Firstly, I am glad to say that I have enjoyed the LA programme in this term. This is because it not only focuses on language usage, but the fun aspects of LA, through video analysis, music analysis and debates on characters in To Kill A Mockingbird. I have gained more knowledge on how to develop characters more smoothly and the elements of a short story, which has helped me to differientiate it from a biography.
I prefer this LA programme to last year's as every student is given a chance to present their work. This would allow the students who are more quiet to speak out and build up their confidence. I hope to see more digital media used in the programme, such as videos and songs. Learning LA through this type of media would appeal more to students as they are more familiar with it.
My favourite lesson was the one where the LA teacher showed us "Where is the love?" by the Black Eyed Peas as I had found out more about the meaning of the song. It also appealed to me as I enjoy this genre of songs. I learnt more about discrimination and prejudice, and the insightful comments made by my peers in class also further enhanced my understanding of discrimination and prejudice.
